The Rules
Committee consists of four appointed members of the Board of
Directors. This Committee will consider any written
suggestions regarding rules changes, presenting such to the
Board for consideration. Any rules infraction or damage and
destruction of Club property should be reported either to
the General Manager or in writing, addressed to the Rules
Committee, P.O. Box 385, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350 for
consideration and appropriate action. Violation of rules is
subject to the following fines: First Offense Warning,
Second Offense - $25.00, Third Offense -$50.00, Fourth
Offense - $100.00.
GENERAL
USGA Rules govern all play except local rules. Local
rules will be available in the golf shop.
Turn in to the Golf Shop all scores for handicap.
All play starts in the #1 tee unless otherwise approved by
the Golf Professional Staff. Afternoon re-frames do not have
priority on the #1 tee and must check in with the Golf
Professional Staff before going out to play. No re-frames
will be allowed to tee off on #13 tee unless approval is
given by the Golf Professional Staff.
The membership has a tradition of fast play. All groups
should play at a speed to play 18 holes in no more time than
3 ½ hours. Groups will be monitored to detect slow play with
special emphasis on fivesomes or group with walkers. The
Golf Professional Staff has the right to require slower
groups to yield the right of way.
All cart operators must have a valid state automobile
drivers license. No exceptions.
Children under 15 years old must complete a Junior Golf
School before any play on the course or use of the practice
areas, unless the child is accompanied by an adult member.
Children under 15 and guests will not be allowed on the
Golf Course before noon on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays
unless prior approval is given for the Golf Professional
Staff.
Jogging, walking, bicycling of pets and other types of
exercise activities, other than golf, are prohibited during
regular golf operation hours.
Coolers are not to be brought on property. All food and
beverage must be purchased at the Golf Club.
Lookout Mountain Golf Club does not accept cash. All
purchases must be either charged to a members account or we
will accept MasterCard or Visa.
Outside play is not allowed in between designated dogfight
games on weekend and holidays. Play other then dogfights may
play in open play times between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. or
after noon.
GUEST RULES
The purpose of the guest rules is to allow as much
flexibility as possible for local and out of town members to
play golf without interfering with the regular play of the
members of the Lookout Mountain Golf Club. Speed of play is
also considered in determining the following rules:
Local guests (within 50 mile radius) may play no more than
once a month on weekends/holidays and must be accompanied by
a member. No local guest will be allowed to play before noon
on weekends/holidays unless playing in a regularly scheduled
dogfight game. Guests playing as a foursome with a member
may only play after noon on weekends/holidays, and after
checking in with the golf shop to avoid interfering with
regularly scheduled play. Member may accompany up to three
foursomes at any time on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
with permission form the golf professional, while Fridays
and weekend guest play will be limited to one foursome.
Sponsoring members must sign the guest book for all guests
indicating their name and whether local or out of town.
Record of such play will be furnished to the rules committee
each month for consideration and action in case of misuse.
Out of town guests of a member visiting three days or more
may pay one guest green fee of $125 per week not exceeding
two weeks (all other charges- cart rental, etc. will be paid
in addition to this weekly guest green fee.) A guest card
will be issued by the Club.
Unaccompanied guest- play is allowed Tuesday through
Thursday before 10:00 a.m. Members who sponsor these guests
may do so by calling for approval form the golf
professional. Members may sponsor up to 2 foursomes.
Unaccompanied guests will be charged appropriate guest fees.
Carts
Follow daily cart rules posted in the Golf Shop.
Only two riders in a cart, and each must have their own
clubs and bag.
Please keep carts 50 ft. from the greens, off tee boxes
and away from bunkers. Violations will result in fines.
Use common sense- stay out of wet areas and avoid bare
areas.
Members and members guests will not abuse or damage club
property in any way or manner and shall be liable for all
damage for loss, as well as a $100 fine, as a result of
negligence or abuse.
Pull carts are not allowed at Lookout Mountain Golf Club.
Course Rules
Please repair all ball markers on the greens.
Fill in divots in the fairway with sand provided on the
carts.
Chip shots to practice green only. Please do not practice
chip shots or approach shots to any green of the course
including the nursery green adjacent to the Maintenance
Facility. Please do not hit practice shots in the confined
areas of the fairway.
Please rake bunkers after play and enter and leave from
the rear of the trap.
Club throwing will not be tolerated at Lookout Mountain
Golf Club. The Board of Directors will impose a $100.00 fine
for violations, no warning necessary.
Range Rules
Hit between the white markers only.
Please follow range hours posted in the Golf Shop.
Range balls are property of the Lookout Mountain Golf Club
and as such are not to be taken off property.
The paved area adjacent to the driving range is for cart
parking only. No automobiles allowed.
Parking
No parking in grass areas.
Please park in designated paces only.
Please observe handicaps spaces.
Extra parking is available in the lot below the driving
range.
Fees
If a member wants to ride in a cart alone when someone
else could ride with them, the individual would be charged
for a full cart. ($28.00 for 18 holes)
