Tom Schreiner finished T-29 in the Suntrust State Open held at Greystone GC. He started off with a 2 under par 70 in round 1 and followed with a 2 over par 74 on a difficult day. Great Playing Coach Shreiner!

On Tuesday May 25, 2010, Mr. L.H. “Hacker” Caldwell shot his age with a stellar 87. He played with Mr. Scott Probasco III and Don Jensen. Great Work!

Mr. John McGee had a Hole-In-One on Saturday May 22, 2010. He knocked it in the hole using a 8 iron from 117 yards. He played with Mr. Jimmy Chapin, Mr. Harry Groves, Mr. Keith Davis and Mr. Lewis Ray. He would like to apologize for tearing up the cup as his ball entered the hole. Great Shot!!

Ladies Opening Day!!

The Lookout Mountain Ladies Golf Association had their opening day on April 23, 2010. The weather could not have been better. Spring was finally here! It was a small but enthusiastic group of ladies who participated. Two 4-person teams, playing select shot. Winning team consisted of Pat Stewart, Becky Bowers, Betsy Montague and Debbie Reilly. At lunch, the 2010 Yearbooks were passed out to those present. All other Ladies whose names are in the yearbook are asked to come by the Pro Shop and pick up a copy.

Remember, every Friday at 9 a.m. is LADIES DAY at Lookout Mountain. On Thursday, you can bring a guest for $5.00. Please sign up by Thursday. Everyone in the Ladies Association is encouraged to play with us – ALL levels of golf are in invited.

Putting Downhill

I would like to thank all of you for supporting the Demo Day. The sales representatives from, Titleist, Cobra, Taylor Made, our own Scratch Golf, Ping, Nike and Callaway were impressed with your support, so thank you again for helping to make it a successful day. The 2010 Pre Masters tournament is a great annual event that kicks off the golfing season and we had yet another great turnout. Congratulations to the winners a

nd thank you to those that participated!! Lookout Mountain Golf Club is hosting the Women’s Southern Amateur Championship May 31st – June 4th, the golf course will be closed during this week to member play but will reopen Saturday June 5th. I have made arrangements for our members to play at the Canyon Ridge Club during this week. If you have any questions or need directions please contact the Golf Shop at 706-820-0719 ext. 11. Don’t forget about the 2nd Annual Beat the Pros scheduled for Saturday May 29th, grab a partner and try to beat the Better Ball of your golf professionals, Adam Campbell and Jon Cumber (Net scores are allowed). Make your wager before you tee off and if you “Beat the Pros” you double your money in Golf Shop Credit. If you have ventured out to the Oehmig Center you have noticed we have upgraded the balls there to enhance your practicing experience. We are providing DT Carry and Rolls balls from Titleist now and are asking members use them at the Oehmig Center only.
